SSC Releases RFP for New Question Paper Setting Agency

SSC Releases RFP for New Question Paper Setting Agency

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a request for proposal (RFP) on its website to onboard a new agency for setting question papers for various exams conducted by it, including the following:

  • Combined Graduate Level (CGL)
  • Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL)
  • Central Police Organisation (CPO)
  • SSC GD Constable
  • SSC Stenographer Grade C and D
  • SSC Junior Engineer (JE) Exam
  • and many other important Exams

The RFP contains many technical terms and processes for the agency. However, candidates need not worry about these details. The main thing to note is that the new agency is likely to be onboarded in 2024 or later.

Key Conclusions:

  1. There is a high chance that the current agency, TCS, will be replaced. Alternatively, there may be two to three agencies that set question papers in the future.
  2. There are very few agencies that can meet the SSC's standards. NTA and Sify are also competent contenders, as they have previous experience in setting question papers for SSC exams.

Should Future Aspirants Worry?

As previously mentioned, there are very few agencies that can meet the SSC's standards and compete with large companies in terms of deals, etc. However, a new agency, may also come but it chances are very less.

It is important to understand that the questions may change or the level of difficulty may be different. Therefore, candidates should be prepared for change. However, the basics will remain the same. Candidates should study their best and leave the rest.
