Assistant Security Officer (Group B) - Tier 1 Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Examination Pattern

  1. The three (3) hour examination will comprise of multiple choice questions with one correct answer.
  2. One (1) mark will be awarded for each correct answer and minus one by three (-1/3) mark for each incorrect answer.
  3. The unanswered questions will not attract negative marks.
  4. Question paper will have two sections namely General Section and Post Related General Awareness & Aptitude Section.

General Section (50 Marks)

Syllabus

  • English Language and Comprehension: English Grammar, Sentence Correction and Completion, Paragraph Summary, Reading Comprehension & Inferences, Verbal Analogies & Critical Reasoning.
  • Mathematics & Numerical Ability: Arithmetic - up to 10th Standard. Numerical Computation, Numerical Reasoning, Data Reasoning and Data Interpretation.
  • General Awareness and Current Affairs: Current Affairs, Government Schemes, Economics, Geography, Indian History, Indian Polity, Indian Constitution - up to 10th Standard.
  • Logical Reasoning: Number/Alphabet Series, Reasoning Analogies, Relations.
  • Computer Proficiency: Knowledge of MS Windows and MS Office, Internet, and email system.

Post Related General Awareness & Aptitude Section (50 Marks)

Syllabus

  • Fundamental Rights & Duties, Classification of Institutional Area Based on Vulnerability and Importance, Measures for Theft Control, Accident Prevention Measures, Disaster Mitigation Including Pandemic Safety, Police Verifications/Enquiries, IPC/CrPC, LIU, Handling of Safety Gadgets and Firearms, Content and Lodging a FIR with Police, Maintenance & Management of Complaint System, Investigation into Complaint & Report Writing, Traffic Control, CCTV Surveillance, Deployment & Management of Security Personnel, Safety & Fire Fighting.

Assistant Security Officer (Group B) Tier 2 Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Max Marks: 50

Section I: Computer Based Test (20 Marks; Duration: 1 hour)

  1. Computer related skill test: MS word and Excel
  2. Report writing on security related scenarios.

Section II: Field Tasks (30 Marks)

  1. 2.0 Km Running
  2. Chin-ups
  3. Handling of Fire Arms
  4. Driving Light Motor Vehicle /Motorcycle
