Pharmacist (Group C) - Tier 1 Examination Pattern and Syllabus

Examination Pattern

  1. The three (3) hour examination will comprise of multiple choice questions with one correct answer.
  2. One (1) mark will be awarded for each correct answer and minus one by three (-1/3) mark for each incorrect answer.
  3. The unanswered questions will not attract negative marks.
  4. Question paper will have two sections namely General Section and Post Related General Awareness & Aptitude Section.

General Section (50 Marks)

Syllabus

  • English Language: Sentence Completion/Correction, Inferences, Reading-Comprehension, English Grammar, Verbal Analogies, Critical Reasoning, Word Meaning, Synonyms and Antonyms.
  • Numerical Ability: Arithmetic - up to 10th Standard, Numerical Computation.
  • General Knowledge: Current Affairs, Indian History, Indian Polity, Indian Constitution, General Economics & Geography - up to 10th Standard.
  • Computer Proficiency: Knowledge of MS Windows and MS Office, Internet, and email system.

Post Related General Awareness & Aptitude Section (50 Marks)

Syllabus

  • Human Anatomy and Physiology, Biochemistry and Clinical Pathology, Health Education and Community Pharmacy, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence, Drug store and Business Management, Hospital and Clinical Pharmacology.

Pharmacist (Group C) Tier 2 Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Max Marks: 50

Duration: 1 hour

Job Related Skill Test:

  1. Social Pharmacy – Social Pharmacy, Preventive healthcare, Nutrition and Health, Microbiology and common microorganisms, ongoing National Health programs, Pharmacoeconomics.
  2. Hospital & Clinical Pharmacy –Hospital Pharmacy, Supply Chain and Inventory Control, Drug distribution, Radio Pharmaceuticals, Application of computers in Hospital Pharmacy Practice, Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical care, Clinical laboratory tests, Poisoning, Pharmacovigilance, Medication errors, Drug interactions.
  3. Pharmacy Law & Ethics- Law related to Drugs and Pharmacy profession, Pharmaceutical Ethics, Blood bank – basic requirements and functions, Biomedical Waste Management.
